Ready to trade with Axi?

Is Axi Regulated?

Yes, founded in 2007, Axi is a global Forex and CFD broker regulated by several financial authorities, including:

  • The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) – AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd (AFSL No. 318232)
  • The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of the UK – Axi Financial Services (UK) Limited (FRN 466201)
  • The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) – Solaris EMEA Ltd (Licence No. 433/23)
  • The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) – Axi’s Dubai branch.

Client Protection Measures: Axi implements several measures to enhance client security:

  • Segregation of Funds: Retail client money is held in segregated client accounts separate from the broker’s own funds under applicable client-money rules.
  • Negative Balance Protection: Provided for retail clients under applicable regulations, ensuring clients cannot lose more than their deposited funds.
  • Compensation Schemes (where applicable): Coverage depends on the entity and jurisdiction, such as FSCS protection in the UK, subject to local eligibility rules and limits.

Axi’s Trading Instruments

Axi’s range of financial instruments to trade is smaller than most other brokers.

Available Assets and Leverage

Overview: Axi provides access to a wide range of CFD markets with high leverage available across several asset classes. Traders can access 170+ tradable instruments, including 70 Forex pairs, 100 share CFDs, indices, commodities, metals, cryptocurrencies and energy markets. Maximum leverage can reach 1:1000 on several asset classes under the international entity.

  • Forex (leverage up to 1:1000): Trade 70 major, minor, and exotic FX pairs including EUR/USD, GBP/USD, AUD/USD, USD/JPY, and USD/CAD. High leverage of up to 1:1000 allows traders to control larger positions with relatively small margin requirements, making Forex the most leveraged asset class on the platform.
  • Metals (leverage up to 1:1000): Axi offers 7 metal CFDs, including popular instruments such as gold and silver. Precious metals can be traded with leverage of up to 1:1000, allowing traders to speculate on price movements in global safe-haven assets.
  • Commodities (leverage up to 1:1000): Traders can access 25 commodity CFDs, covering energy and agricultural markets. Instruments include widely traded raw materials such as crude oil and other global commodities, with leverage of up to 1:1000 available on selected contracts.
  • Indices (leverage up to 1:1000): Axi provides 32 index CFDs, allowing traders to speculate on major global equity benchmarks such as the US 30, US 500, NASDAQ 100, Germany 40, and UK 100. Leverage can reach 1:1000, offering significant exposure to global equity markets.
  • Stock CFDs (leverage up to 1:500): Trade 100 share CFDs covering major global companies. Stock CFDs allow traders to speculate on the price movements of individual companies without owning the underlying shares, with leverage of up to 1:500 depending on the instrument.
  • Cryptocurrencies (leverage up to 1:200): Axi lists 35 cryptocurrency CFDs, including popular digital assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major altcoins. Maximum leverage of 1:200 balances the high volatility of digital assets with meaningful trading exposure.
  • WTI Energy Contracts (leverage up to 1:100): Traders can access 4 WTI crude oil contracts, offering exposure to global energy markets. Leverage on these instruments is capped at 1:100, reflecting the higher volatility of energy products.

Note: Maximum leverage depends on the regulatory entity servicing the account and may be reduced at higher position sizes under Axi’s tiered margin system. Margin requirements may also increase during periods of heightened market volatility.

Axi Accounts and Trading Fees

Axi offers three account types, which is average when compared to other ECN brokers, and two of the account types are suitable for beginner traders.

Opening an Account at Axi

Opening an account at Axi is a quick and hassle-free process. Our accounts were approved within minutes, which is exceptionally fast for the industry.

Trading Accounts

Overview: Axi Trading Accounts: Axi offers three primary live account types designed to suit different trading styles and cost preferences: the Standard Account, Pro Account, and Elite Account. While all three accounts provide access to the same trading assets and core features, they differ in pricing structure, minimum deposit requirements, and additional benefits. • Spreads: Spreads start at 1 pip.

Key Benefits: Raw-style spreads combined with transparent commission pricing, offering potentially lower overall trading costs for high-frequency traders.

Elite Account

  • Pricing Model: Commission-based pricing with ultra-tight spreads.
  • Minimum Deposit: 25,000 USD.
  • Commission: 3.5 USD round trip per trade.
  • Spreads: Spreads start at 0.0 pips on EUR/USD.
  • Ideal For: Wholesale or professional traders seeking the lowest possible trading costs and enhanced trading support.

Key Benefits: Institutional-style pricing with reduced commissions, extremely competitive spreads, and premium support tools designed for high-volume traders.

Comparing the Three Accounts

The Standard Account is best suited to traders seeking a simple, commission-free pricing model with no minimum deposit requirement. The Pro Account is designed for more active traders who want tighter spreads and are comfortable paying a fixed commission per trade. The Elite Account caters to professional or high-volume traders, offering lower commissions, ultra-tight spreads, and additional premium benefits in exchange for a higher minimum deposit.

Axi’s Education and Market Analysis

Axi’s trader education is better than most other ECN brokers, with detailed information in video and text format for both beginners and more experienced traders. It also offers a free demo account, but it expires in 30 days.

Education

Trader education at Axi is detailed and flexible, available in both written and video format. Highlights of the education available include:

  • Video tutorials on demand
  • Courses available in 24 languages
  • An eBook with a simple lesson structure
  • Frequent tests to monitor your progress
  • Frequent webinars on both basic and advanced topics

Subjects covered include:

  • Forex trading basics: Currency pairs, leverage, spreads, opening/closing trades
  • Analysis techniques: Charts, technical analysis, support/resistance, using indicators and oscillators to support trading strategies
  • Developing a trading strategy: Including day trading, news trading, trend trading and more
  • Trading psychology: Risk management, greed and overcoming the fear of loss

While Axi’s educational content is not as broad or as deep as the best trading educators, like BDSwiss or IG Markets, it is still better than most ECN brokers and will be useful for both beginners and experienced traders.

Demo Account

Axi offers a demo account with a virtual balance of 50,000 USD that remains open for 30 days. While using your demo account, Axi will provide you with a dedicated account manager to assist you and answer any questions you may have. The demo account is an opportunity to experience Axi’s services without risking your money, but the 30-day limit is unusual – many brokers offer unlimited demo accounts (but without the dedicated account management service).

We found that Axi’s market analysis is less frequent than many other large international brokers, but the quality is excellent.

Market Research and Analysis

We found that Axi’s market analysis is less frequent than many other large international brokers, but the quality is excellent.

Aside from a perfectly functional Economic Calendar, Axi also runs a Market News Blog which features regular analysis, both technical and fundamental, as well as educational pieces and features. The regular analysis includes a weekly market preview, charts of the day, charts of the week, and a daily briefing on the market open.

Overall, not as in-depth as you may expect from a broker of this type, but all analysis is solid and well-written.
